Digital IMAX theater opens in Bend, Oregon’s Regal Old Mill

October 7, 2011 – 1:01 pm

The Bulletin writes:

For the first time, the Regal Old Mill Stadium 16 cinema in Bend’s Old Mill District is showing a movie on its recently installed IMAX screen.

At midnight, the cinema began playing “Real Steel: The IMAX Experience” in the renovated theater, which features a screen larger than the others at the cinema. An adult ticket, available online, costs $15.50.

The construction and opening of the IMAX theater appears to be ahead of schedule. Robbie Arrington, marketing manager for Regal Entertainment Group, based in Knoxville, Tenn., told The Bulletin in June that construction could start after the summer movie season.
