Peoria, Illinois’ The State Journal-Register writes:
The walls in the Illinois High School Association’s Peak Performance Center are painted a color named, with good reason, screaming green. There’s a section of a basketball court at one end of the large room that will one day soon include a basket that rotates.
The concrete floor of the Illinois River Encounter gallery was being painted a watery blue on Wednesday.
The giant screen – 52 feet tall by 70 feet wide – has been installed in the Giant Screen Theater. The Zeiss Powerdome planetarium equipment is being installed in the planetarium this week.
With 90 days left before the Oct. 20 opening of the Peoria Riverfront Museum, the pieces are beginning to come together. There are no exhibits to see yet, but a museum is taking shape.
“We’re on time and on budget,” said Jim Richerson, the president and CEO of the museum.
