The Journal Sentinel writes:
The Milwaukee Public Museum begins showing 3-D movies in its domed theater with a new projection system today.
Renamed the Daniel M. Soref National Geographic Dome Theater and Planetarium, the theater will feature educational films, with about 50% of the offerings provided through a partnership with National Geographic, according to museum spokeswoman Mary Bridges.
“The National Geographic films are made specifically for educational facilities like the museum. You won’t see them on the National Geographic Channel,” said Bridges.
She added that although giant-screen films will continue to be shown at the venue, IMAX offerings will be less frequent.
