Watchmen in IMAX?

A recent post in Cinematical raises the rumor of Warner Bros.’ Watchmen being released in IMAX:
[A] Cinematical scooper who wants to remain anonymous for certain reasons tells us that not only will the new Watchmen trailer be attached to IMAX prints of The Dark Knight, but the film itself will also be released on IMAX screens in 2009. In fact, our source says (and I quote): “Watchmen WILL be an IMAX movie in ’09.”
An as-of-yet unnamed DMR film will be presented at this GSCA’s 2008 conference for a release in March 2009 coinciding with Watchmen‘s current release date of March 6, 2009. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, whose previous film 300 was also released in an IMAX DMR version.
