THR: ‘Transformers’ sequel screens at CineExpo

The Hollywood Reporter covers the recent screening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at Cinema Expo in Amsterdam:
Paramount followed a high-energy slate presentation here Monday with a pair of screenings of its upcoming summer tentpole “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” at a local Imax theater.
“It’s bigger, it’s louder, and it still has Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox,” Par international exec vp distribution Roger Pollock quipped in introducing “Revenge.”
The screenings were part of opening-day activities of Cinema Expo, which runs through Thursday. Most of the annual exhibition confab’s activities are being staged at the RAI convention center.
“Revenge” got a jump on its imminent launch in the U.S. and other global territories with a $20 million bow in Japan and the U.K. last weekend. The figure includes $510,000 from seven Imax screens in the U.K. and three Imax screens only recently installed in Japan, representing a mind-bending $51,000 per specialty venue.
