AMC Desert Ridge to get digital IMAX
November 3, 2009 – 12:08 pmPhoenix’s AMC Desert Ridge 18 is set to open a new digital IMAX screen which debuts with James Cameron’s 3D film, Avatar. ABC15 News reports:
Film buffs rejoice! A New IMAX theater is set to open at the AMC Desert Ridge 18 in just over a month.
The new theater will be open for business on December 18, and the first film that will be shown is the hotly anticipated “Avatar: An IMAX 3D Experience.”
It has been digitally re-mastered into IMAX’s format exclusively for presentation in the IMAX auditorium.
Other movies set to be released in IMAX’s format include: “Alice in Wonderland” (March 5, 2010); “How to Train Your Dragon” (March 26, 2010); “Shrek Goes Fourth” (May 21, 2010); “Inception” (July 16, 2010) and “Tron Legacy” (Dec. 13, 2010).
