Telluride to show Grand Canyon in digital 3D

May 23, 2008 – 12:09 pm

A special digital 3D presentation of Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D will be shown at the 2008 Telluride Mountainfilm Festival. The screening will be held on Sunday, May 25, followed by an in-depth panel discussion on water issues of the American Southwest.

With water as this year’s Festival theme, Grand Canyon‘s call for water conversation in the Colorado Delta contributes to the overall discussion of global water issues at Telluride. A daylong Water Symposium kicks off the Festival with special guests Dennis Dimmick, Grand Canyon Adventure science advisor Peter Gleick, Brad Udall, Azzam Alwash, Alexandra Cousteau and Sylvia Earle.

Originally released to 3D and 2D IMAX theaters, Grand Canyon was converted to digital 3D by DKP 70MM. It is currently showing in over thirty IMAX theaters. The film follows river advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and anthropologist Wade Davis in a river rafting journey through the Colorado River. The film is narrated by Robert Redfored and features songs by Dave Matthews Band.
