Fairfield to get digital IMAX theater
October 6, 2008 – 1:07 pmA digital IMAX theater will open in Fairfield, California by the end of the year. The Edwards Fairfield Stadium 16, located at Westfield Solano mall, will convert an existing auditorium into a digital IMAX theater. Daily Republic reports:
A larger screen will be installed, and the seats will be moved closer to the screen ‘to enhance the moviegoer’s field of vision. The vision encompasses the auditorium.’
‘The IMAX Experience’ in Fairfield will be unique, [vice president of marketing and communications of Regal Entertainment Group Russ] Nunley said, because the theater will be among the first to use Regal’s new digital projection system.
